The United Nations presented its revamped online platform where it revealed that it will utilize new Google-powered software to help the world deal with issues connected to environment modification, deforestation and food production.The software– Open Foris, U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) software– utilizes high-resolution satellite images to keep track of the environment and changes in land usage and forest cover.We make maps that used to take 3 years in a week, Erik Lindquist, forestry officer at FAO, informed the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
